Keyboard shortcuts
Everything on these docs, and everything in the app, can be reached with a keyboard. These are the keys that do something special.
On these docs
Section titled “On these docs”| Keys | What it does |
|---|---|
| / | Open search (not while typing in a box) |
| ⌘ K or Ctrl K | Open search |
| ↑ ↓ then Enter | Move through search results and open one |
| Esc | Close search |
| Tab / Shift Tab | Move forwards / backwards through links, buttons and the live examples |
| Tab on a fresh page | The first stop is Skip to content, which jumps past the header and sidebar |
| Enter / Space | Press the focused link or button |
The live examples are the app’s real components, so the app’s keys below work inside them too.

The modals are covered on Modals, and the pickers on Form fields.
Known gaps
Section titled “Known gaps”Places a keyboard can’t do everything yet:
| Where | Gap |
|---|---|
| How: a saved travel leg | Deleting is a swipe left, with no keyboard way to reach Delete |
| How: train and taxi “Travelling from / to” | The station list only answers a tap or click: arrows and Enter can’t pick a station |
